– 1993
In 1993, the Gill family embarked on a journey to Canada with the aspiration of forging a brighter future. Their odyssey epitomizes the progression of three generations of visionaries who dedicated themselves to the pursuit of growing premium vinifera grapes and crafting extraordinary wines that showcase the terroir of British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley.
With over 30 years of farming experience in the Okanagan Valley, the Gill family has cultivated a legacy rooted in passion, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. What began as a journey in tree fruits—growing apples, apricots, cherries, and peaches—evolved into a deep appreciation for viticulture and the art of winemaking.
– 2007
In 2007, the Gill family purchased their first vineyard, planting the seeds for what would become an enduring relationship with the land and its potential to produce world-class wines. Today, they proudly farm over 200 acres of vineyards, spanning the renowned Okanagan regions of Osoyoos, Peachland, and West Kelowna, each offering a unique contribution to their premium wine portfolio.
The story of After 93 Vineyards & Estate Winery is one of generational vision and dedication. Naranjan Singh Gill, the first generation of the Gill family, came to the Okanagan with his two sons, Manmohan and Gurmit Gill, to forge a new path in agriculture. Over time, the third generation—Sukhvir, Navjoit, Navpreet, and Subjoit Gill—embraced their heritage while looking to the future, channeling their passion into creating something truly extraordinary.
– 2015
In 2015, the family opened their first winery, Bordertown Vineyards & Estate Winery in Osoyoos BC, quickly earning a reputation as one of the most esteemed wineries in the South Okanagan. Building on this success and driven by their desire to further showcase the brilliance of BC wines, the family expanded their vision with the creation of After 93 Vineyards & Estate Winery in West Kelowna.
