Mohan Gill – Owner & Founder
Mohan Gill’s journey in the Okanagan Valley began in 1993 when he moved with his parents and brother, Gurmit, driven by a vision of establishing a lasting legacy for his family in the farming and wine industry. Starting as an orchardist, Mohan gradually shifted his focus to viticulture, acquiring his first vineyard in 2007. In 2015, Mohan and Gurmit realized a shared dream by founding Bordertown Vineyard & Estate Winery in Osoyoos, BC. Today, the Gill family cultivates over 200 acres of premium vineyards across the Okanagan and produces more than 20,000 cases of wine annually. Their dedication to quality and precision has earned them recognition as some of the finest viticulturists and winemakers in British Columbia.
Mohan’s journey has been defined by a hands-on approach, immersing himself in every aspect of the industry—from nurturing the soil to crafting exceptional wines. As described by Tim Pawsey of Vitis Magazine, Mohan has developed “a natural intuition for nurturing a wide range of varieties,” underscoring his deep connection to the land and the craft.
Throughout more than three decades of hard work and growth, Mohan has prioritized family as the foundation of his success. He has involved his family in every major decision, fostering unity and shared purpose that he credits as the cornerstone of their achievements. Today, the next generation of the Gill family carries this legacy forward, with the creation of After 93 Vineyards & Estate Winery—a testament to the family’s vision, resilience, and passion for excellence in winemaking.

Sukhvir Gill – Founder & President
Sukhvir represents the next generation of the Gill family, bringing innovation and ambition to the family’s long-standing legacy. After earning his degree from the Sauder School of Business in 2020, Sukhvir entered the family business with determination and vision. Having grown up in Osoyoos, BC, he spent his formative years immersed in the world of orchards, vineyards, and winemaking, closely observing and learning from his father, Gurmit, and uncle, Mohan.
Deeply inspired by the decades of hard work and dedication that built his family’s success, Sukhvir recognized his purpose in carrying forward and expanding their legacy. With Bordertown Winery already established as a testament to the Gill family’s commitment to excellence, he saw an opportunity to take their business to new heights by reaching broader markets and introducing their wines to a global audience. In 2021, this vision took shape with the creation of After 93—a brand born from innovation, heritage, and a desire to redefine wine experiences for a new generation.
Sukhvir created After 93 with a singular vision: to elevate the wine experience for customers and ensure every interaction reflects the passion and craftsmanship behind each bottle. Building on the rich legacy of the Gill family and the success of Bordertown Winery, Sukhvir recognized the need to go beyond simply producing exceptional wines. He envisioned a brand that prioritizes the customer journey, from vineyard to glass, ensuring that every sip embodies quality, authenticity, and care. With a deep respect for his family’s heritage and an eye on the future, Sukhvir strives to create not just wines, but memorable experiences that connect people to the heart and soul of After 93.
Daniel Bontorin – Consulting Winemaker
With over 19 years of experience as a winemaker and a highly regarded winemaking consultant in the Okanagan, Daniel brings unparalleled expertise and passion to his craft. Growing up in British Columbia, his Italian heritage instilled in him a deep appreciation for wine, which began with helping his father craft wine as a hobby during his early years. Daniel graduated among the top five in his class at Okanagan College and immediately set out to transform his knowledge into a lifelong pursuit of winemaking excellence.
Eager to deepen his expertise, Daniel returned to his roots in Veneto, Northern Italy, where he studied at Cantina Montelliana in Montebelluna. There, he mastered the organic and biodynamic processes of viticulture and winemaking, refining his understanding of how sustainable practices influence the character of wine.
Daniel’s winemaking philosophy emphasizes minimal intervention, respecting the terroir and allowing the fruit’s natural essence to shine. His meticulous attention to detail is evident in every aspect of his work—from small-lot fermentations and whole-cluster pressing to thoughtful oak aging—ensuring that every wine reflects both its origin and his dedication to quality.
Committed to sustainable farming practices, Daniel has always prioritized growing exceptional wine grapes that embody health, balance, and sustainability. His goal has remained unwavering: to produce small batches of high-quality wines that represent the very best of the vineyard. Guided by his passion and precision, Daniel’s role as Consulting Winemaker ensures that every bottle crafted under his care meets the highest standards of excellence, reflecting the spirit and vision of a world-class winery.
